THANK YOU FOR HELPING THE YMCA OF METRO NORTH BE MORE
Peabody – YMCA supporters from all across the Metro North area came together to celebrate the Y and raise vital funds at the YMCA of Metro North’s So Much More Auction and Gala on September 24th at the Salem Country Club in Peabody. Through the generosity of the 175 guests in attendance and countless others who participated in an online auction, the Y surpassed the fundraising goal for the evening and raised $90,000 for the Y’s Annual Fund.
The YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund distributes more than $1 million in scholarships and financial assistance each year. The scholarships help provide childcare for working families, summer camp for homeless youth and teens and discounted memberships and wellness programs for seniors.
“We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our Board, our gala sponsors and everyone who attended the So Much More Auction and Gala or bid on an online auction item,” said YMCA of Metro North President and CEO Bruce Macdonald. “The YMCA is so much more than just a place to work out. Y programs are transforming lives and the money we raised will enable the Y to continue to be more for every member of the communities we serve. “
Guests at the So Much More Auction and Gala enjoyed a delicious dinner and dancing with music from Afro-pop band Kina Zore. They were also treated to a special performance by young vocalists from the Lynn YMCA. Attendees had the opportunity to bid on a wide array of silent auction items and radio personality Hank Morse from radio station WROR 105.7 served as auctioneer for the live auction.
