Class offerings at the Stoneham Total Wellness Studio

Members of the YMCA of Metro North are welcome to drop-in to classes at our beautiful Stoneham Total Wellness Studio, located at 39 Pleasant Street in Stoneham.  Please visit our schedules page for a list of class days and times.  Non-members are welcome to purchase class passes to attend Group Fitness classes at the Stoneham Total Wellness Center.  Class passes can be purchased at the main desk of the studio.  If you have questions please call the Melrose Family YMCA at 781-665-4360.


Barre & Tone
Barre and Tone: Designed to trim, tighten and tone your entire body with an emphasis on defining your gluteus and legs. By using small, controlled movements, isometric holds and high repetition, Barre Conditioning develops strength, flexibility, and endurance while blasting calories. This workout will shape and elongate your muscles through Pilates and dance style movements.
Yoga Flow: A Vinyasa style of Yoga based on Hatha Yoga tradition. This class involves linking traditional Yoga poses together to create strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. This well-rounded class is safe and effective for most levels of fitness and ability levels.
Power Yoga: Power Yoga heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance and intention. Connecting the body to the mind and spirit, through intense flow and Ujjaiy breathing techniques, this is a great class for students who are ready to take the next step in their Yoga practice. Power Yoga is traditionally a more vigorous, fitness-based approach to Vinyasa Yoga that emphasizes strength, flexibility and flow.
Pilates Reformer
Pilates Reformer one-on-one: Private Pilates sessions with certified instructor Mia Melendez are now available utilizing a Pilates Reformer and more! Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements.  Apparatus or Reformer Pilates exercises are performed on pieces of equipment that use springs, gears, straps and ropes to provide resistance to both aid and challenge.
