The YMCA of Metro North branches have been busy this month offering members the chance to make a difference. Everything the Y does throughout the year is in service to making us better, both as individuals and as a community. But every March we celebrate Make a Difference Month by hosting activities to provide our members the opportunity to give back. From an evening of music celebrating the talented and shining stars of the Lynn community to a basketball game with the Mayor of Peabody, these events were fun, engaging and impactful.
The impact is made through the Y’s Annual Campaign, which ensures that no one is turned away from the Y for an inability to pay. With each donation, a difference is made in the life of a child, family or senior. Whether it’s a scholarship so a child can learn to swim or a membership so a senior couple can stay physically and socially active, that time at the Y can be life-changing for so many. Our members made sure that everyone has that opportunity by supporting our Zumbathon, bench press competition, child art show auction or Easter Egg Hunt during Make a Difference Month.
In 2015, the YMCA of Metro North provided over $1,000,000 in scholarships and financial assistance to work toward a better us. Please consider making a difference in the life of a family, youth or senior with a donation to the Annual Campaign in honor of Make a Difference month.
