New England IMPACT NPL teamed up with the YMCA of Metro North to Help Students Gear Up for a New School Year.
[October 1, 2021] — The Y Academy in Lynn got a new champion this Fall and a back-to-school boon thanks to the efforts of a new female soccer league that combines excellence on the playing field with excellent community service. The New England IMPACT NPL teamed up with the YMCA of Metro North to help students gear up for the new school year with supplies and necessities to equip them for the school year ahead.
“It was incredible to partner with the YMCA of Metro North on our inaugural School Supply Drive,” says Dr. Dina Gentile, President of Impact NPL. “Our program works with female athletes to empower them to make inspirational change both on and off the playing field. They were grateful to have the opportunity to contribute supplies to help the Lynn students start the year on the right foot.”
IMPACT was created to offer a league-based platform for female student-athletes from across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. IMPACT has expanded into New Hampshire this Fall. IMPACT is a model league capturing competitive, high-level soccer on the field with programs to expose female athletes to all possibilities of who they can be as players and as students and community advocates.
“I’m really inspired by these athletes and their sense of community engagement,” says Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. “I see great things to come from this program and from their alumni.”
