The YMCA of Metro North hosted its 39th Annual Fore the Kids Golf Tournament at the Kernwood Country Club in Salem on Monday, June 24. The tournament, which North Shore Bank sponsored, brought together 34 teams to support the YMCA youth programs, including summer camps, Y Academy educational programs, and free memberships for 7th and 8th grade students in the City of Lynn.
“North Shore Bank is proud to continue its support of the YMCA of Metro North and the programs it provides, especially to the kids,” said Kevin Tierney, Chief Executive Officer of North Shore Bank. “The leadership and staff at the Y continue to demonstrate the difference they make in children’s lives and the impact their work has in our communities.”
The event is one of the YMCA of Metro North’s biggest fundraisers of the year and brought in more than $95,000 to support the nonprofit’s youth programs around the region.
“The success of this golf tournament and other fundraisers is a testament to the unwavering support of our community. Your participation reaffirms our mission and provides us with the resources to continually develop and enhance programs that support youth and teen development in our region,” said Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North.
The YMCA of Metro North provides over $2 million in financial assistance to ensure that its memberships, programs, and services are accessible to everyone in their region.
Their next major fundraising event, the Where in the World annual celebration, will take place on September 26, 2024, at the Torigian Family YMCA. The event will also honor Kevin Tierney and North Shore Bank with the Community Compass Award for decades of outstanding leadership and positive impact on our region.
