Mental Health Resources

Seniors, Adults, Kids and Teens are all facing great uncertainty and anxiety as Covid-19 affects our daily health and family routines. Everyone reacts differently to stress, these can include:

  • Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones
  • Changes in sleep or eating patterns
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
  • Worsening of chronic health problems
  • Worsening of mental health conditions
  • Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs

The YMCA of Metro North is offering these resources to help you in mind, body, and spirit.

Natalie DeNardo and Nicole Wade guide participants through times of stress with strategies for creating and achieving reasonable goals, managing and avoiding stress eating, and troubleshooting challenges to stay healthy. Sign up online!
Yoga for People in Recovery class is a beautiful combination of support, healing, and cleansing for those who are dealing with addiction. Sign up to receive the Zoom class link by email.
Studio Y has this series of Meditation and Yoga videos to help you destress during this time. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning. Conversely, what we do with our physical body can impact our mental state. Mind Body exercise explores that relationship.
The YMCA is also offering access to workouts on its Y360 platform. Check out these mind and body videos with an effective combination of traditional movements and mindfulness using flexibility, breathing and strength.
