The YMCA of Metro North announced that its annual Where in the World Gala raised more than $340,000 to provide critical access to YMCA programs and services for thousands of children, teens, families, and seniors across the region.
The event, which took place on September 18, 2025, at the Marriott in Peabody, was filled with celebration, auctions, awards, and community spirit. YMCA leaders reminded guests that the real impact of their generosity is felt not just on one night, but every day of the year. From aquatics instruction and Y Academy Early Learning and Out-of-School Time programs to financial assistance for members and health and wellness initiatives, the Y depends on community support to continue opening doors for all.
“The gala is a wonderful night to celebrate! We know, though, that the reason our community comes out to support us is because of the work that happens at the Y year-round,” said Kathleen Walsh, President & CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. “Every moment of the 364 days after this event will be filled with educating kids, mentoring teens, welcoming families, and supporting seniors. The generosity shown at this event makes those everyday moments possible.
Dave Gravel, Board President of the YMCA of Metro North, added, “This night is proof of how strong our community is when we come together. Thanks to our supporters, the Y can continue to be there for every neighbor who walks through our doors.”
The gala also recognized outstanding community leaders with its annual awards. Kevin and Dee Colcord received the Community Compass Award for their extraordinary leadership and philanthropy, and the evening was hosted by Billy Costa of Kiss 108 and the Dining Playbook.
