The YMCA of Metro North is excited to announce their annual “Where in the World” Celebration to be held on Saturday, September 28th at the Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody! This event is the Y’s premier fundraiser of the year, with 100% of the money raised benefiting their youth development programs. The Y’s gymnasium will be transformed into an elegant travel-inspired event space, where guests will enjoy bidding on live and silent auction items while savoring international cuisines from local restaurants. The evening will conclude with a raffle drawing to determine the winner of the grand prize of Dinner for 2, Anywhere in the World! If you could eat dinner anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Honorary chairs Dave and Cathy Gravel, of the Peabody-based company GraVoc Associates, are thrilled to collaborate with the Y for the third year in a row to make this fundraiser a success. GraVoc’s Platinum Sponsorship of the event allows the Y to once again offer the grand prize trip to one lucky raffle winner. Raffle tickets are included with the purchase of an event ticket, and are also available at www.metronorthymcaraffle.org. The winner does not need to be present at the event. Lydia Todd, the winner of the 2017 raffle, enjoyed dinner in Australia last summer, and last year’s winner Mike is headed to Ireland later this month.
“We are proud of the fact that the Y never turns anyone away for inability to pay,” says Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. “In fact, we provided over $1,000,000 in scholarships last year, and we’re able to do that because of the money we raise at events like this.” The Y’s ACCESS scholarship program allow hundreds of families in the service area to be able to enroll their children in life-saving swim lessons, summer camps, and quality preschool and after school care at Y Academy.
Event tickets are $100 each or $150 for a pair, and are available at https://www.bit.ly/WITW_2019. Guests who purchase a ticket before August 1 are invited to a special “pre-boarding” complimentary cocktail hour.
