The YMCA of Metro North is proud to announce the appointment of Joe Yiakas to its Board of Directors. Yiakas brings more than two decades of business leadership and community engagement to the organization, including his current role as Owner of the New England Premier Sportsplex in Danvers.

“Joe’s dedication to community, youth development, and healthy living aligns perfectly with the YMCA’s mission,” said Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. “His experience in managing sports and recreational facilities, along with a successful corporate background, will be a tremendous asset to our board.”

Yiakas has served as Owner of the New England Premier Sportsplex since 2018, overseeing the operations of a 40,000-square-foot indoor facility that includes turf fields, batting tunnels, and family-friendly recreation spaces. Prior to that, he spent over 20 years at MetLife, including eight years as Regional Sales Vice President, building teams and driving business success across the region.

A longtime resident of the North Shore, Yiakas has demonstrated a passion for promoting access to youth sports and wellness activities. In his new role on the YMCA Board, he will help guide the organization’s strategic direction and support programs that serve thousands of families across the Metro North region.

“Whenever I get a chance to give back to the community or pay it forward, I’m excited to contribute to such a great organization,” said Yiakas.

The YMCA of Metro North is honored to welcome Joe Yiakas to its leadership team as it continues its commitment to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
