Celebrating 175 Years of the Y
No Place Like This
In 2026, the YMCA will celebrate 175 years of strengthening communities and here at the YMCA of Metro North, we’re marking this milestone by looking forward, not back. Through the national No Place Like This Place campaign, we’re shining a light on what makes the Y essential: bringing people together, opening doors to opportunity, and creating spaces where everyone belongs. This anniversary year is about more than history—it’s about how we continue to show up for our neighbors through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, today and for generations to come.
As part of this celebration, YMCA of Metro North is launching Creating Connected Communities, a year-long focus on deepening relationships, expanding access, and amplifying local impact across our branches. Members and community partners play a vital role in this work. By volunteering their time, sharing their stories, and helping us spread the Y’s mission throughout the North Shore. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community where everyone can thrive, and there truly is no place like the Y.
