The YMCA of Metro North will hold Swim Team Tryouts for its Tritons Swim and Dive Team this August for the 2022-23 Fall/Winter Swim Team season. The Y’s swim team is a year-round competitive program offering high-quality coaching and technique instruction. The goal of the Y’s swim team is to provide every member with an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability.
Tryouts are for open slots on the Torigian Tritons Team in Peabody.
“Our swim team gives youth the opportunity to participate in a team environment that supports their development as competitive swimmers on multiple levels: from beginners to athletes whose goal is to be nationally ranked. We are looking forward to the tryouts and welcoming new swimmers to our team,” said Ashley Phoenix, Director of Competitive Aquatics
Tryouts will be held at the Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody:
August 4th, 6:00pm- 8:00pm
- Ages 5-8 – 25 yards freestyle and backstroke with strong forward motion and a basic idea of breaststroke and butterfly.
- Ages 9-12 – 50 yards freestyle and backstroke, 25 yards full stroke butterfly and breaststroke.
- Ages 13+older – proficient knowledge of all four strokes, starts, and turns.
