Pilates Reformer
Reformer Pilates are now offered at the Melrose YMCA! Private Pilates sessions with certified instructors are now available utilizing a Pilates reformer machine and other equipment.
What exactly is Pilates? Pilates in a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Apparatus or Reformer exercises are performed on pieces of equipment that use springs, gears, straps and ropes to provide resistance to both aid and challenge.
What are the benefits of Pilates? By practicing Pilates regularly, you can achieve a number of health benefits, including: 
- Improved core strength and stability
- Improved flexibility
- Improved posture and balance
- Prevention and treatment of back pain
Reformer Pilates is available exclusively at the Melrose YMCA for members!
Reservations with Group Ex Schedules: Reformer class is low impact and focuses on strength, mobility, posture, and flexibility. Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout, with an emphasis on stability, core strength, and mind-body connection. Classes are limited to 4 members and are 55 minutes in length. Sticky-bottomed socks are required. There is a $25 drop in rate per class. You must cancel more than one hour before the start time to avoid being charged for a class.
