The Y is committed to improving the health, nutrition and well-being of people in our community. This commitment goes beyond coming to our fitness facilities to exercise, we want to keep people healthy wherever they may be. When you are with the Y, it gives you access to much more than the gym, it connects you to a health movement that looks to create a profound impact on fitness, disease prevention, and adherence to a healthy lifestyle, all to better the overall health of our region. While many of our members are at-home, the Y is offering virtual health, nutrition and wellness programs to provide support and motivation to help you reach your health goals.
VIRTUAL RACE SERIES
Next up in our series of virtual 5ks is our Stride with Pride charity 5k! These YMCA virtual 5ks are for everyone- whether you have been training for a race or run that was canceled or postponed or you just want a fun activity to participate in, the Y is here to help you stay active and healthy during this difficult time.
Here is how it works. You chose a day between Thursday, June 11 and Sunday, June 14, pick a location that will allow you to respect social distancing guidelines, and time that works for your schedule to do the work! After you complete your 3.1 miles, head over to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and share your 5k pictures or workout screenshot with everyone. Use the hashtag #StrideWithPride5k. Be sure to tag @YMCAofMetroNorth! Let’s celebrate what we can do and the health we have.

GROWING TOGETHER – VIRTUAL GARDENING CLUB
The YMCA of Metro North is seeking home gardeners in our communities! Join us as part of the Growing Together Project, getting your hands dirty at home starting a vegetable garden with your families. We encourage students of all ages, 2 to 102, to join us in learning the science of gardening and sharing nutritional recipes using our harvest. We will be providing start-up seed kits, gardening basics, helpful tips and tricks, delicious meal ideas, and much more as we collectively build a community of home gardeners. Share with us on social media using the hashtags #GardenTogetherAtHome and #YMNGrowingTogether so we can follow your progress!
